Abstract

775,040. Anchor-bolts. MARUSIK, F. Dec. 7, 1954, No. 35343/54. Class 89 (1). An anchor-bolt assembly comprises a bolt 1 on which are U-section wedges 4, 5, wedge 4 being secured, e.g. by welding, to the bolt-head 2 and wedge 5 abutting a flange 18 on the end of a sleeve 6 surrounding the bolt. A tongue 7 is fixed in a recess in wedge 5 and is welded to sleeve 6, the free end extending out of the bore 19 containing the assembly to prevent rotation of the bolt and wedges as nut 11 is tightened to secure the assembly in the bore. A distance-sleeve 8 may be required, and the outer end enters a hole in a washer 9 to abut a washer 10 through which the bolt passes. Each washer has a notch for the tongue and, after tightening the assembly, sleeve 8 and washer 9 may be removed for subsequent use with another assembly. The wedges may be of differing hardness, e.g. wedge 4 may be of hardened steel and wedge 5 of mild steel, to facilitate removal and re-use of the assembly.
