Abstract

938,492. Securing nuts and bolts to work. F.T. PRODUCTS Ltd. May 31, 1962 [June 14, 1961], No. 21501/61. Class 89 (1). A nut or bolt-head 24, Fig. 4, is secured adjacent a rectangular hole in a panel 23 by a resilient U-clip formed from a strip, e.g. of metal, to have steps 14, 15, Fig. 1, in the limbs whose lower parts 17, 18 are curved about their longitudinal axes to be internally concave, lugs 19, 20 being sheared from these parts for contacting a face of the panel 23. The limbs of the clip may be accommodated in a counterbore in a workpiece to be secured to the panel, Fig. 6 (not shown), or in a sleeve 26, Fig. 2 (not shown), used to prevent a nut on the bolt 25 from contacting the clip limbs. Instead of being convergent, as shown in Fig. the limbs may be parallel when used for anchoring a nut.
