Abstract
773,239. Pneumatic linear-dimension gauges. SIGMA INSTRUMENT CO., Ltd. Jan. 13; 1956 [Jan. 18, 1955], No. 1566/55. Class 106 (2). In a pneumatic gauge of the kind described in Specification 724,205, a change-over valve V, Fig. 1, is provided so that in its first position the pressure on the downstream side 13 of the restriction 11, 12 is communicated to the upper end of the gauge tube 1 and the pressure on the downstream side 15 of the measuring jet control orifice 9 is communicated to the lower end of the measuring tube and in its second position these communications are reversed. The first position of the valve is shown in Fig. 2 wherein the valve comprises two inlet ports 26, 27 connected to the restriction 11 and measuring jet control orifice 9 respectively, three outlet ports 28, 29, 30, ports 28 and 30 being interconnected and communicating with the upper end of the tube 1 and the outlet 29 communicating with the lower end of the tube, and a displaceable plunger 20 having two spaced circumferential grooves 24, 25 which in the first position of the plunger link ports 26, 28 and 27, 29 respectively and in the second position link ports 26, 29 and 27, 30 (28) respectively.
