937,054. Pneumatic gauges. THOMAS MERCER Ltd., and D. J. WEATHERBY. April 24, 1961, No. 14725/61. Class 106 (2). The pressure in conduit C leading to the gauging head D of a pneumatic gauging system is substantially maintained after removal of the workpiece E by closure of a solenoidoperated valve F, air now escaping only through a small orifice G. Closure of valve F is accompanied by operation of a three-way valve K to isolate the gauge J and introduce a compensating volume L. Pressure switches M and N correspond to maximum and minimum tolerances on the workpiece dimension, and give " reject " signals when both are open or both are closed.
