Abstract

650,218. Pipe couplings. COMPAGNIE PARISIENNE D'OUTILLAGE A AIR COMPRIME. Dec. 29, 1948, No. 33392. Convention date, Nov. 26. [Class 99(i)] A packing ring 5 is compressed between the flange 3 of a pipe 2 and a sleeve 4 on a pipe 1 by pressure exerted on a loose sleeve 6 overlapping the flange, ring and sleeve 4, and applied by one or more eccentrically-acting clamping devices which may comprise pins 8 engaging in grooves 7 of sleeve 6, and links 9 pivoted to control levers 11 pivoted at 12 on sleeve 4. In the clamped position the axes of the links may be parallel to the pipe axes and behind the pivot spindles 12. The ring may be retained by a flange 13 of sleeve 6 the axial movement of which is limited by a stop 14.
