Abstract

618,715. Stopping pipes. PASS & CO., Ltd., E., and COOKE, F. Nov. 15, 1946, No. 33889. [Class 99 (ii)] A stopper, adapted to be drawn along a gas main as the work proceeds, comprises a plain leading disc a loosely fitting the main, and a sealing disc j, the discs being connected by a pair of interengaged eye-bolts b, k, each disc having a central spigot a', f<3> frictionally engaged by a coiled spring g which houses the bolts. The sealing disc comprises an L-section rubber ring j gripped between two clamping plates f, h. A nut d is provided in the form of an eye for attachment of a haulage cable.
