Abstract

773,104. Reversible seats. AEROTHERM CORPORATION. June 1, 1955 [Feb. 15, 1955], No. 15742/55. Class 52 (2). A seat frame 21 for a vehicle seat can rotate through 180 degrees on a vertical pivot 32 carried by a displaceable bearer 10 actuated by a cam 8 on the fixed sub-frame and movable against compression springs housed in tubular frame members 6 to clear the vehicle side wall on rotation. Rollers 34 on the frame 21 engage the cam as the seat is rotated and displace and return the pivot 32 during each 90 degrees of revolution. Locating pins 20 on the bearer 10 engage recesses in the transverse bar 24 of the seat frame which has slight vertical freedom against a spring concentric with the pivot 32. Folding foot-rests 36, 38 may be provided which pivot on a longitudinal bar 40 and are spring-biased over a dead centre position to their in-use or outof-use positions.
