720,906. Seats. LAFONTAINE, F. April 10, 1953 [April 11, 1952], No. 9756/53. Class 52 (2). A seat which is reversed by rotation about a vertical axis and which, in being reversed, first recedes from and subsequently reapproaches a side wall or the like preferably in a vehicle comprises, as shown, a double seat 11 with backs 12 and arm rests 13 having on its underside a frame 17 provided with two depending pivots 19, 20 for slide blocks 21, 22 arranged to slide in T-shaped channel guides 23, 24 formed in a frame 16 secured to the base. As the seat is rotated anticlockwise the slide blocks 21, 22 move along the guides 23, 24 respectively, the seat, in rotating, receding from the rail or wall P to give clearance for the movement of the arm rest A. After the seat has rotated through 90 degrees, the seat gradually approaches the rail P during further rotation until the seat is in the same relative position with the rail' P but facing in the opposite direction.
