Abstract
771,886. Luggage attachments. FERIDAX, Ltd., and FERRIDAY, J. R. July 27, 1955 [April 7, 1954], No. 10149/54. Class 136(1) In a pannier bag and receptacle of the kind which provides luggage holding equipment to be installed at a rear side position on a motor cycle and which comprises a metal box or frame 1 capable of receiving a flexible bag 6 provided with a closure flap 7, the latter being releasably fastened to the body of the bag by means of a known luggage fastener, of which one part, such as a hasp 9, is mounted on the flap 7 and the other part is a key operated in a casing 11 mounted on the body of the bag, the box or frame 1 is provided with a locking loop 15 which can be interposed between the fastener part of the flap 7 and the bag, so that the latter can be fastened to the box or frame by the loop when the bolt is key locked. The locking loop 15 may have outwardly turned ends 16 hinged in a beaded upper edge 17 of the front wall 4. Alternatively, the loop 15 may be fixed on the wall 4 in an upright position and the hasp 9 hinged to an attachment plate on the flap 7.
