1,262,956. A device for supporting and holding open, fold-flat bags ready for filling. G. E. WALLEY. 24 April, 1969, No. 20868/69. Heading B8C. A device for supporting a plurality of foldflat containers, for instance for garbage disposal, comprises a U-shaped frame 1 each of the two prongs 2 of which has U-shaped portions 4, 3 respectively at its inner and outer ends the base of the frame having looped ends 5, 6 for the reception of fixing screws and a centre 7 shaped to accommodate the hinge of a lid, not shown, for closing the top of an open bag. In use, a plurality of fold-flat bags, made for instance of paper or plastics material and having apertures 8, are threaded over the prongs 2 and are retained, as a pack, with the apertures 8 located in the U-shaped portions 4. The foremost container is opened for use by pulling its front top edge forwards and locating the corresponding front pair of apertures 8 in the front U-shaped portions 3 so that the bag presents a rectangular opening for filling. When full the bag can be pulled forwardly off the prongs 2. The device may be free standing wall or, pillar mounted, or be manually mobile, and may be made of wire. In another construction the depressions 4, 3 may be replaced by slits.
