Abstract

1279344 Bag holders S R WEISBERG 9 April 1970 16877/70 Heading B8C A stand for supporting a non-self-supporting bag comprises a bottom wall on which the bag can rest, closely spaced inwardly flexible side walls which in use, are engageable with side walls of the bag and means at a front of the stand engageable by the front bottom portion of the bag to prevent the bag swinging away from the stand when the stand is tilted forwardly and the stand being open at the top thereof to expose at least the front upper corner portion of the bag to permit the contents to be poured from an opening thereat. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 a flat bag 3 of plastics material is supported in a holder 5 of flexible material having a pair of slots 11, 11 in which the bottom of the bag is anchored. In a similar arrangement, Figs. 5-7 (not shown), a pair of slotted tabs (11a) (11a<SP>1</SP>) serve to retain the bag in the holder. In another arrangement, Fig. 8, the holder forms part of a box 15 having serrations 17a, 17b by means of which the top of the box is removable to expose the bag 3 within. In a further arrangement, Figs. 12, 13 the holder is formed of a stamping having apertures 30, 34 in a base portion 22a by which to anchor the bag 3.
