900,219. Receptacles. HOLLINGSWORTH, MARSHALL & CO. Ltd. Jan. 20, 1961 [Jan. 20, 1960], No. 2123/60. Class 98 (2). A vacuum-formed sheet 1 is such that it can be folded to form a receptacle having two sidewall portions 2, 3, spaced apart by a base portion 4, the side-wall portions having projections such as ribs 5 which, after folding, form supports for articles placed in the receptacle (e.g. microscope slides or photographic plates). One side-wall may be extended to form a lid. The sheet may be of thin plastic, and during the vacuum forming, grooves X-X and Y-Y may be moulded therein to facilitate folding. After the receptacle has been formed, it is placed in an outer cardboard box 6 for support and reinforcement. Two such sheets may be formed in a single operation (Fig. 3, not shown) so as to form a double receptacle. The slides may be placed in the receptacle before or after the latter is placed in the cardboard box.
