Abstract

1,027,666. Holders for plastic cups. DOW CHEMICAL CO. Oct. 26, 1964 [Dec. 2, 1963], No. 43585/64. Heading A4A. A holder 10 for a plastics cup 12 has a side wall 22, a base 14 providing an open bottom, and spaced prongs 16 which define an opening 18 in which a portion 30 of the cup is engaged, the peripheral part 32 of the wall 22 also engaging the cup and having an upper peripheral edge which is higher at one portion than at an opposite portion, the remainder of the wall 22 being spaced from the cup to form ventilating spaces 34, which allow cooling of the cup to avoid distortion. The holder is preferably made of plastics and has a stacking shoulder 28. In a modification the base and prongs are formed by a reversibly folded flange, fillers between the flange and the side walls providing the stacking shoulder.
