Abstract

1327641 Ventilated livestock box ASHTON CONTAINERS Ltd 3 Aug 1972 [12 Aug 1971] 37950/71 Heading B8P A box for chicks is partitioned into two, four or six compartments by a hollow transverse wall or walls, each of which is open to the exterior of the box and has apertures in its side panels to ventilate the compartments. A box having four compartments is formed from two blanks 15 and 60, each of which includes opposed side wall panels 16, 17, or 61, 62, base panels 18, 19 or 63, 64 and an inverted channel shaped transverse wall 100 or 101. The transverse walls 100, 101 from cruciform structure when the blanks 15, 60 are secured together, by stitching flaps 50-53; 86, 87, 91, 92; 72, 73, 80, 81, or by stitching tongue and slot connections (Figs. 6 and 7). The side walls 16, 17, 61, 62 of the box diverge upwardly. The box is closed by an apertured lid 10 which rests on the top surfaces of the transverse walls 100, 101 and is held in position by carrier strips 74, 75, 82, 83 pushed inwardly to extend above the carriers of the lid.
