Abstract

1317084 Plastics crates MONTECATINI EDISON SpA 3 June 1971 18907/71 Heading B8P A plastics crate for fruit or vegetables comprises four corner stanchions 1, two opposed longer side walls formed by horizontal and vertical ribs 4, 5 and 8 and vertical slots 12, two opposed shorter side walls formed by four horizontal ribs 6 and 7, two vertical ribs 9 extending between the uppermost and lowermost horizontal ribs 6 and vertical slots (12, Fig. 2) spanning the three lower horizontal ribs 6, 7, and an open lattice bottom consisting of two longitudinal ribs (10 Fig. 3), two transverse ribs (11 Fig. 3) and a plurality of transverse slots (12, Fig. 3). The crate includes feet 14. The crate may be lined by a folded cardboard sheet (Fig. 4) which may be unattached or secured to the crate. The lining sheet may also include a cover and side wall portion. Large fruits may be held within the crate in cell-structured plastics sheets and small fruits may be held within the crate in one or more small-baskets.
