792,872. Boxes for chicks. BOWATER RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO., Ltd., [formerly BOWATERS DEVELOPMENT & RESEARCH, Ltd.]. May 25, 1956 [June 20, 1955], No. 17789/55. Class 18. A box for chicks has sides at least partially inclined to the base and a liner or partitioning arranged to permit ventilation through perforations in the box sides. The sides 4, 6 are folded up from the base, tongues 8, 9 on the walls 6 being stapled to the walls 4. Ventilation holes 10 are provided communicating with spaces between the liner or partitioning and the sides. An octagonal liner may be fitted, or the box may be divided as shown by partitioning folded up from a single blank. The box may similarly be divided into four. The partitioning, may have tongues such as 44, 51 entering slots in the base 1, the tongues 51 having lugs 55 to prevent withdrawal. The tongues protrude beneath the box to ensure ventilation space between stacked boxes.
