Abstract

1522021 Combined bicycle pannier and trolley G D MASKENS and RMASKENS 10 Feb 1976 [10 Feb 1975] 5472/75 Heading B7J In a combined bicycle pannier and shopping trolley pait of containers 1, one of which is fitted with a handle 11 and ground wheels 10, are adapted for interconnection to form a trolley and are each attachable to a cycle frame to lie one on each side of the rear cycle wheel. As shown in Fig. 2 each container 1 has attachment lugs 5, 7 which co-operate with plate (3), Fig. 1 (not shown) and brackets (8) of the cycle frame. The handle 11 is pivoted to lie over hinged lids 2 of the containers. A locking member 9 pivoted to plate (3) is adapted to overlie the tops of the containers 1 and when handle 11 is folded down projection 12, Fig. 5, therefrom enters a hole 14 in locking member 9. A padlock 15 may pass through co-operating holes in the member 9 and a stop plate (13), Fig. 3 (not shown), located on plate 3. As shown in Fig. 4 the attachment lugs 5, 7 may be interlocked so that the containers form a shopping trolley with handle 11 erected. The containers may be thermally insulated and may be wholly rigid or have flexible walls and lids. Also the containers may incorporate rear lighting, signalling and reflectors.
