Abstract

769,197. Aerials. CHERRINGTON, G. L. A. Oct. 1, 1954 [Oct. 1, 1953], No. 26915/53. Class 40(7) The support for two aerial rods or tubes 17 forming a V-aerial comprises a base bracket 1 having fixing lugs 2 and a column 3 provided with an axial bore 6. Into the bore will fit either of the mutually perpendicular spigots 7 or 8 of the support carrier 9. The carrier will be adjustable about the axis of the bore and may be secured in a desired position by set screw 10. The end of the carrier is formed with a parallel sided lug 11 having a hole 12. The longer limbs of two L- shaped arm supports 13, 14 are attached one on either side of the lug 11 by bolt 15. The shorter limbs of the supports extend over the lug and have externally projecting studs 16, one at least of which is made of insulating material. An insulating washer 16a is provided round the base of each insulating stud. The studs are so arranged that the aerial tubes 17 mounted on them lie in a common plane. Each tube is held on the corresponding stud by a screw 19 which passes through a slot 18 in the tube and into a tapped hole in the stud. The screw carries a suitably-shaped clamping washer 21 and also acts as the terminal for the connection of a feeder to the element. The elements 17 are independently adjustable to a required angular position about the axis of screw 15.
