Abstract

689,941. Soldering; welding by fusion. FISCHER AKT.-GES., G. April 2, 1951 [April 4, 1950], No. 7614/51. Class 83 (iv). A support stand for piping to be soldered or welded comprises a rod-like element carrying a plurality of axially slidable discs each having notches in its circumference which may be aligned on the different discs. In an embodiment a square rod 1, Fig. 1, is supported on a base by a member 5 and has discs 2, each with eight notches, Fig. 4, mounted thereon. A central hole 4 having eight corners allows different mounting positions. A further square rod at right angles to the rod 1 may be slidable in an axial direction or pivoted thereon and carries discs 2. Piping 8 with connectors 7 is supported in the notches and is held by a forked arm 13 on a member 9. In a modification the rod is replaced by a grooved tube 16, Fig. 5, which carries a forked arm member and discs 18 which have spring-urged pins 20 to engage the grooves. The forked arm 28, Fig. 9, may be provided on a member having a friction fit on a grooved tube 16 by means of a spring-pressed split tapered bush 29.
