Abstract

767,832. Locking-nuts. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Jan. 7, 1955 [Jan. 8, 1954], No. 592/54. Class 89 (1). [Also in Group XXXVI] A terminal-nut comprises two screw-threaded portions 1, 2 partially separated by a transverse saw-cut 8. Portion 2 is made flexible by an axial saw-cut so that after portion 1 has been tightened on a threaded stem 7, portion 2 may be contracted into locking engagement with the stem by a clamping-screw 5. Two such nuts are used to clamp a conductor between them, as shown, or one nut used in conjunction with an ordinary nut or an abutment on the stem. Specification 317,290, [Class 89 (i)], is referred to.
