Abstract
766,776. Photographic copying optical systems. ILFORD, Ltd. Feb. 22, 1955 [March 19, 1954]. No. 20705/56. Divided out of 766,775. Classes 97(1) and 98(1) A photographic transparency is illuminated by a substantially parallel beam of light obtained from a small light source and an image is projected by an objective lens, at least one secondary beam of light being obtained from the source by a mirror and directed through the transparency in a direction not to pass through the objective lens unless deviated by the transparency. In the form shown the transparency is illuminated by a lamp 11 with condenser 14. The beam 13 from the lamp passes through the objective 16. Secondary light rays, such as 19, are reflected through the transparency by a frusto pyramidal arrangement of plane mirrors 18. The system 'helps to neutralize the effect produced by scratches on the image formed by the beam 13. The relative intensities of the main and reflected beams may be controlled by varying the-aperture of the objective by a diaphragm or by a grey filter in the main beam. The Provisional Specification also contains the subject matter of Specification 766,775.
