765,008. Adapter plugs for drums etc.; bunghole bushes. RIEKE METAL PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Feb. 15,1955 [Feb. 16,1954], No. 4454/55. Classes 21 and 125(3). An externally threaded adaptor plug 12 for a barrel or drum has a central internallythreaded recessed portion 15 closed by a weakened diaphragm 16. The plug is screwed into the bunghole of the barrel &c. and a tap is screwed into the recess, the base flange of the tap making sealing engagement with a shoulder 18 on the plug. Screwing home the tap severs the sealing diaphragm 16, or the diaphragm may be severed or knocked out prior to screwing in the tap. The plug may be of compressible material.
