Abstract

909,568. Container closures. STANDARD VACUUM OIL CO. Sept. 3, 1958 [Sept. 3, 1957], No. 27796/57. Class 125(3). In a closure assembly for cans &c., the periphery 2 of the container orifice is flanged outwardly and a member 3 having a threaded portion 5 and a rupturable end wall 6 with fracture line 7 has a flange 8 between which and body portion 4 the orifice flange is crimped. The body portion 4 accommodates either a snap-in lid 10 or a screw plug 14 to act as closure after wall 6 has been ruptured.
