Abstract

626,235. Bungs and bushes. BARNES, F. J. T. Jan. 21, 1947, No. 1934. [Class 21] A bung 23 is hammered into an adaptor 19 which is secured by a screw, bayonet or other joint to a filling tube 13 on a metal cask 12. A sealing ring 20 is interposed between the adaptor 19 and the tube 13 and may fit into recesses in either or both of them. The adaptor is castellated as at 21 to receive a spanner. The bore 22 of the upper end of the adaptor is tapered. A locknut may engage a thread 15 on the tube 13 and a projecting ring on the adaptor 19.
