Abstract

576,338. Container closures. MILLETT, L. L. Jan. 4, 1944, No. 115. [Class 125 (iii)] A collapsable tube 8 is provided with a screw closure in two sections 2, 3 connected by a spring 4 so that on lifting member 2, member 3 still engages the container. The spring urges the member 2 away from member 3. The device may be used with closures applied either to the interior or to the exterior of a container neck and is not restricted to screw closures. The invention is also applied to bottles and jars, and the parts 2, 3 may be connected by a hinge comprising a hinge pin and hinge plates and a spring.
