Abstract

721,061. Container closures; bushes for bungholes. READS, Ltd. Dec. 9, 1953 [Sept. 10, 1952], No. 22748/52. Class 125 (3). A metal container having a screw threaded bush 12 secured to the wall 10 by welding and closed by a screw plug 16 with flange 17 and gasket 18 has a non-rotatable metal ring with a flat portion 19 and upstanding wall 20 with bead 21 retained by the gasket 18 and engaging a capseal or secured to the plug 16 by a wire and metal seal to prevent unauthorised opening of the container. The plug 16 may be secured by a capseal having its edge 24 crimped under the bead 21. The ring is made non-rotatable by making its opening non concentric with the lower part of wall 20 or by tabs 35 which engage the outer periphery of an embossment 11 on the container wall.
