Abstract
764,834. Winding and twisting yarn. SCRAGG, Ltd. S. & E., and SCRAGG, F. May 23, 1955 [May 11, 1954], No. 13647/54. Class 120 (2). Yarn G from a driven supply package B is uptwisted and wound into a cheese H<SP>2</SP>, passing through a fixed guide F, thence about a roller S driven by the driving roller I, upon which the cheese H<SP>2</SP> rests and by which it is frictionally driven. Driving bands T on the roller L effect the drive to the roller S, which advances the yarn G at a rate slightly greater than the take-up speed, the yarn being traversed on to the package by a reciprocating thread guide M. The package may be taperended, the guide M being rocked by the differential movement of two reciprocating shafts R, O, to which it is pivotally attached. The roller S is carried by a spring-urged arm V.
