Abstract
761,999. Filtering gases. SUDDEUTSCHE KALKSTICKSTOFF - WERKEAKT-GES. Dec. 10, 1953, No. 34403/53. Class 8(2) Changeover between normal gas filtering flow and a reverse flow of filtered gas from a relatively high-pressure storage vessel for cleaning of the filter material is automatically controlled in dependence upon the pressure difference between the upstream and downstream sides of the filter. Valves 5, Fig. 1, which in one position pass filtered gas from inward-flow ceramic sleeves located in housings 3 through ducts 6, 8 and a suction fan 11 to outlet ducts 12, 14 and in another position pass cleaning gas from ducts 12, 15 a blower 16, pressure vessel 18 and a duct 21 reversely through the sleeves are automatically controlled by solenoids which are themselves energized by a contact 29, Fig. 3, and a diaphragm 28 responsive to the difference in pressure between the opposite sides of the filters sleeves and to which the diaphragm is connected by ducts 25, 27. The cleaning gas is warmed in a heat-exchanger 7 which also serves to cool the filtered gas and dust removed from the filter sleeves falls, into the dustladen gas inlet chamber 2 from which it is removed by a worm 31.
