761,720. Piston packing. TEVES, H., and TEVES, E. A., [trading as TEVES MASCHINEN-UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMMGES., A.]. Aug. 25, 1954 [Aug. 25, 1953], No. 24732/54. Class 122 (1). A piston-ring is formed by at least two steel or cast-iron laminµ 1, 2 adapted to seal against the cylinder wall and separated by spacer inserts 3 of synthetic resin capable of withstanding the temperatures occurring in internal-combustion engine cylinders, e.g. polytetrafluoroethylene. The synthetic resin may be provided with heat-conducting additives, for example metallic powder, and the inserts which may be loosely housed between adjacent lamina or firmly attached thereto may be corrugated, stepped or perforated. The ring is expanded by a spring ring 4 which, when the piston ring is used as an oil-scraper ring, may be perforated to permit the passage of oil.
