Abstract

760,882. Integrating-apparatus. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES. Sept. 24, 1954 [Sept. 25, 1953], No. 27690/54. Class 106 (4). Integrating - apparatus comprises a pawl' carrier 14 rotated at constant speed upon which a pawl 18 is pivoted under the control of a disc 36 driven by measuring mechanism so that the pawl is coupled to a ratchet wheel 47 for a time proportional to the instantaneous value of the magnitude measured, the time integral of which is indicated by a counter driven by the ratchetwheel 47. An abutment pin 25, arranged on the disc 36, is rockable and ineffective within a given range of rotation of the disc 36, and, in the remaining range, is locked and effective for bring- ing the pawl 18 into engagement with the ratchet-wheel 47. In each revolution of the carrier 14 the pawl 18 is disengaged from the ratchet wheel 47 by a pin 27 on a disc 28 frictionally held in a position preset with the aid of a scale 29 and index 30. The pawl is mounted on a bar 19 with two limbs 20, 21 formed with knife-edges resting in bearings 15, 16 on the carrier 14 and when the pawl 18 is disengaged from the ratchet-wheel 47 the bar 19 is drawn by a spring 22 against a nose 23 of the carrier 14. The pin 25 is mounted on a lever 31, 32 pivoted on a shaft 35 fixed on the disc 36 and is locked against pivotal movement by an arm 39 engaging the periphery of a disc 40 so that when the pin 25 engages the limb 20 it rocks the pawl 18 which is guided into engagement with the ratchet-wheel 47 by an abutment 45. If the value of the measured quantity is lower than a predetermined value to which the disc 40 has been set the arm 39 enters a recess 41 and the pin 25 yields when it encounters the limb 20 and no integration takes place.
