Abstract

244,206. Dopp Maschinen-und Waagenfabrik Akt.-Ges., Geb., and Dopp, F. Oct. 6, 1924. Printed records, apparatus for giving. - Relates to a direct-reading weighing-machine having printing mechanism carried upon a member freely rotatable about the indicator shaft of the machine, and consists in that the printing mechanism may be turned to a position in which the tare is cancelled, and that in other respects the machine sets itself automatically so that the nett weight may be read and printed. As shown, the printing mechanism is carried on a plate 5 which projects through a slot in the indicator housing 2 and is pivoted on a cylindrical boss 4 disposed coaxially with the indicator shaft 1. The card to be printed is carried in a slotted slider 7 guided in the plate 5. A type wheel 12 is mounted on the shaft 1 and is provided with notches 17 in its periphery, each notch corresponding to a, type graduation. The indicating means (not shown) comprise a pointer on the plate 5 adapted to register with a chart mounted on the shaft 1. In use, the plate 5 is rotated until the pointer coincides with the zero of the chart as displaced by the tare, and is then locked in position by a set screw 6. The load to be weighed causes a further displacement of the type disc and chart, and may be read directly from the chart and be printed by an inward movement of the slider 7. Lugs 26 projecting from the slider engage and deflect, during the inward movement, a lever 22, which .returns under the influence of a spring 23 and strikes the printing hammer 24. The type disc 12 is retained in position during printing by a stop member 16 engaging one of the notches 17. The stop member is resiliently mounted on a slide 13, Fig. 6, carried by the plate 5, and is pressed into engagement by the inward movement of the slide 7. A pawl 18 pivoted to the slide 13 is adapted to adjust the position of the type disc to ensure that the stop member engages a notch. Thus in the event of the load being fractional, the next higher unit is printed. During the outward movement of the slide 7 a bellcrank lever 25 is actuated, causing a movement of the rollers 28 carrying the carbon paper.
