Abstract

759,265. Tractor power lift mechanisms. WEBB, A. G. R., URRY, T. H., and LAMUDE, L. E. July 27, 1954 [April 30, 1953], No. 11929/53. Class 79 (1). A tractor power lift mechanism has its lowest working position defined by a stop 4a, Fig. 1, on a pivoted arm 4 co-operating with a threaded spindle 6 mounted in a bracket 3, 1 on the rear axle casing. As shown, the bracket 3, 1 is bolted to the axle casing 2a, Fig. 2, of the tractor by arms 2 and pivotally carries the arm 4, one end of which is connected to a screwed spindle 6 operable from the tractor driver's seat and the other end of which is adapted to engage a lift arm 5 of the tractor power lift mechanism. The arrangement is such that a plough carried by the lift mechanism can have its depth wheel out of ground engagement and the downward thrust of the plough is taken by the lever 4 and transferred to the tractor rear wheels, the operating depth of the plough being controlled through the spindle 6.
