Abstract

758,140. Hot gas engines. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. June 4, 1954 [June 8, 1953], No. 16611/54. Class 7(1) [Also in Groups XIII and XXIX] A hot gas engine comprising a piston 17 and a.displacer 16 both driven from a common crankshaft 19 has a channel 32 extending from the crankcase 31 to the working space 25 for returning working medium to the space 25 in the event of leakage into the crankcase. The channel 32 has check valves 33, 34 of which the valve 33 (see Group XXIX) constitutes also an oil separator, the separated oil returning by a channel 35 to the crankcase. When pressure in the section 36 of the channel is lower than that in the crankcase working fluid passes from the crankcase, and when the pressure in the working space 25 is lower that that in the section 36 the fluid passes from the latter to the working space 25.
