757,668. Thermal regenerators. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AKTIEBOLAG. Sept. 3, 1954 [Sept. 10, 1953], No. 25591/54. Class 64(1). In a thermal regenerator having a rotor divided by partitions 26 into compartments 19 containing heat transfer material exposed alternately to streams of relatively hot and relatively cool gas, each said partition is formed with a plurality of sealed chambers 40 containing a vaporizable liquid such as water so that under operating conditions the liquid vaporizes, the vapour acting to reduce the temperature gradient through the rotor. The chambers 40 may be incorporated in partitions which extend radially, as shown, or circumferentially within the rotor.
