756,676. Endless conveyers. JOCHUMS, A., and WITTKOP, E., [trading as HAUHINCO MASCHINENFABRIK G. HAUSHERR JOCHUMS & CO. KOMM.-GES.]. Sept. 8, 1953 [Sept. 10,1952], No. 24816/53. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer for raising or lowering coal comprising an endless band formed of articulated steel plates 1 which are driven by endless chains 2, the band being supported at short intervals by rollers 3 mounted on appropriate plates and running on rails 4, an endless cable 6 is secured to the plates provided with the rollers, the cable being unstressed during normal operation of the band and serving to operate as a connection between the plates at a point of fracture in the event of a break occurring in the chains 2. The cable may be made up of sections of cable joined together. It may be replaced by two cables arranged at equal distances from the centre line of the band.
