Abstract

756,575. Fusible cut-outs. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., BIGNELL, G. J. H., and MARTIN, K. Oct. 29, 1954 [Nov. 6, 1953], No. 30809/53. Class 38 (1). A carrier for a cartridge fuse 3 comprises an insulating body 1 recessed at 2 to receive the fuse and contacts assembled therewith. Each contact comprises a clip portion 4 which embraces an end cap of the fuse and has a radially projecting contact blade 7. A lug 9 projects axially from the clip portion. To assemble the carrier the contacts are first assembled with the fuse with the blades 7 arranged approximately at right-angles as shown in Fig. 2. The fuse may then be dropped into the recess 2, the lugs 9 sliding in grooves 10 in the end walls of the body 1. Subsequent rotation of the contacts to bring the blades into operative parallel relationship causes the lugs 9 to enter recesses 11 at the bottoms of grooves 10 thereby locking the fuse and contacts in the body.
