Abstract
755,603. Amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Sept. 12, 1952 [Sept. 27, 1951], No. 22946/52. Class 40 (6). In a D.C. amplifier in which the input is converted to A.C., amplified and rectified to provide an amplified D.C., a chopper system is employed with an unequal duty cycle. A D.C. source 1 supplies current to impedances 2, 3 the latter being shunted by a chopper 4 to feed a waveform 5 to the amplifier 6. The output from transformer 8 has a waveform 9 so that a D.C. potential h appears across resistor 10 and v across resistor 11. As these are in opposition the output D.C. is the difference, h - v.
