775,633. Transistor amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Nov. 10, 1955, No. 32198/55. Class 40(6) In a class B audio amplifier two similar transistors 9, 10 are arranged in push-pull with a small forward emitter bias, a driver 1 feeding the transistors via a step-up transformer 4 with an overall ratio of at least two to one, the transistor 1 operating in class A and all the transistors being connected in the common collector arrangement. Current limiting resistors 5, 6 decoupled by capacitors 7, 11 are arranged in the emitter circuit of transistor 1 and provide the forward bias for the transistors 9, 10. Since the peak-to-peak value of the output from transistor 1 is limited to the battery 'voltage and this signal is required for each transistor 9. 10 the transformer 4 has a turns ratio of at least two to one.
