Abstract
733,250. Transistor amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and MISSEN, J. I. Feb. 24, 1954 [March 17, 1953], No. 7368/53. Class 40 (6). In an amplifier comprising transistors 1, 2 fed in push-pull, the emitters are biased to pass heavy current and the collectors are fed with current from a supply 3 through separate inductors 8, 10 and resistors 9, 11. The load 14 is arranged across the inductors and resistors and is isolated for D.C. by capacitor 15, a blocking capacitor 13 in the input load isolating the two emitters for D.C. Due to the heavy collector current, the collector-base potential is low and dissipation remains low. In one half cycle of input current, the collector current in transistor 1 is reduced and current flowing through the path 8, 9 is diverted through the load 14 and the collector of transistor 2. In the succeeding half cycle the action of the transistors 1, 2 is interchanged.
