Abstract

[Also in Group XI] In an electric lamp for mounting on a panel or sheet such as the mud wing of a car and comprising a rubber or the like yieldable material body 1 adapted to be inserted through a hole in the sheet &c. 13 up to its front radial flange 2 and a bulb-holder 5 inserted in the body from the frontuntil an annular flange 7 thereon contacts the body flange 2, the bulb holder has adjoining its flange 7 an external projection in the form of a circumferential rib 10 or of several spaced projections in the form of tongues in a ring pierced and raised from the wall of the holder, capable of expanding the body 1 to form an external abutment 9 behind the panel to lock or hold the body I in the sheet 13. As shown, the body 1 is fitted with a lens 14a held in position by the rim 16 of the lens engaging underneath an inner rubber bead 17 on the flange 2 and a finishing ring 15 engages under an outer bead 14 on the flange 2.
