Abstract
879.130. Anti-dazzle screens for vehicles. GUTWEIN, E. D. July 27, 1959 [July 28, 1958], No. 24227/58. Class 103(2). [Also in Group XXV] An anti-dazzle screen for covering the whole or the lower or upper half of a vehicle rear window 2 Fig. 3, comprises a sheet of coloured transparent or translucent synthetic plastic or safety glass 7 shaped to conform to the contour of the window, the sheet being provided around its peripheral edges adjacent the window beading 1, with a number of clearance holes 11 each receiving a screw stud 10 of a clamp 8 detachably securing the screen to the beading. The clamp 8 comprises a plate 9 disposed between the screen and window and carrying the stud 10, and a bracket 12 provided with a hole for the stud and having a hook 13. The plate 9 engages in the window receiving groove 5 of the beading 1 whilst the hook 13 engages in a lip 4 on the beading and the parts are secured by a nut 15. In a modification Fig. 4 in which the lip is omitted, a bracket 16 is bent to conform to the contour of the beading 1 and has a tongue 17 to engage in the beading slot 6, which receives the vehicle body 3 surrounding the window.
