A double deck bus has a lower deck entrance 10 and sliding door r 12 situated rearwardly of front wheels 11, and opposite to the entrance is provided with forwardly rising stairs 14 having at least a portion of the lowest step 15 projecting forwardly of the edge 16. Some of the steps may be rectangular in plan, and light panels 20, Fig. 2 (not shown), are provided in the upper deck roof.
