An automobile has a body 9 with a horizontal edge 12 on which is pivoted along one edge a one-piece hood 14, the hood extending down on its opposite edge to approximately floor level at its forward end and sloping upwardly along the body edge 17 towards the rear. Sliding panels may be provided in the hood which may be of polyvinylchloride.
