Abstract

483,631. Vehicle &c. lamps. FLEXIBLE LAMPS, Ltd., and BOWER, E. P. A. Sept. 15, 1937, No. 25066. [Class 75 (iv)] In a vehicle or like lamp of the kind in which the whole of the body A or at least that part thereof carrying the lens C is made of rubber or like resilient material, the lens C is held in an annular groove B by an internally projecting flange B<1> and there is provided a forwardly directed flange D which can be expanded and rolled back when it is desired to remove the lens, this rolled-back flange springing into and being, as shown in Fig. 2, retained in a recess E formed in the lamp body. In a modification, as applied to a lamp of large size, such as a vehicle headlamp, one or more radial slits are provided in the flange D, unintentional opening out of which is prevented by a spring housed in an external circumferential groove in the flange.
