557,162. Vacuum containers ; automobile headlights ; rubber compositions. WINGFOOT CORPORATION. Jan. 28, 1942, No. 1202. Convention date, Aug. 2, 1941. Drawings to Specification. [Class 70] [Also in Groups XI and XVII] Cyclized rubber prepared by reacting rubber cement with the halide of an amphoteric metal is blended with rubber or wax to form a sealing material between glass surfaces subjected to vacuum. The cyclized rubber may be partially oxidized. The surfaces may be first coated with a lacquer adhesive such as oxidized cyclized rubber dissolved in toluol. The seal may be used between a glass reflector and a glass lens of an automobile headlight which is subsequently evacuated.
