Class 75(4) In a motor vehicle lamp having an internal shield 20 with a reflecting surface directed towards the light source 13, the shield has narrow resilient fingers 22 which abut against the interior of the lamp shell 7 or a part e.g. the reflector 14 carried thereby and so retain the lamp glass 17 in place against releasable retaining means 18. The retaining means 18 may comprise a flexible ring fitting in a groove 16 in the rim of the lamp shell. The ends of the fingers 22 may rest against the reflector or may pass through holes provided in the reflector and bear directly on the lamp shell. The shield and glass may have complementary shapes to assist in holding the former in the correct position.
