Abstract

752,129. Collapsible jib cranes. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP WERF GUSTO VOORHEEN FIRMA A. F. SMULDERS. March 25, 1954, No. 8775/54. Class 78 (4). When the jib 4 of a crane is to be lowered to the position in Fig. 4 it is first luffed out to the extreme position shown in Fig. 1 and is then supported temporarily by a member 9 while the connection 6 to the vertically moving balanceweight 7 is broken to permit the balance-weight to be lowered and an extension 12, Fig. 4, of the connection 6 to be inserted. The connection 9 is normally housed against the jib as indicated at 10 and the extension 12 may telescope within the connection 6. The crane illustrated is mounted on a pontoon 1 provided with a support 13 for the lowered jib. The jib is luffed by a screw 8 which traverses the balance weight 7.
