Abstract
752,126. Furnace electrode supports. VEREINIGTE ALUMINIUM-WERKE AKT.- GES. March 18, 1954 [April 27, 1953], No. 7946/54. Class 39(3). An aluminium electrolytic furnace has one or more anodes comprising prefired blocks 2 superposed and joined by a cement layer 3, and the space 10 above the anode is left free from girders or other structure so that a fresh anode block may readily be lowered on the anode, to which current is supplied at the sides from leads 9 through supporting clamps 6 or through nipples which may also contribute towards supporting the anode. The clamps 6 are supported by chains 7 and winches 8.
