Abstract

751,542. Aerials. JOSEPH, D. P. May 18, 1954 [May 19, 1953], No. 14581/54. Class 40 (7). Means for pivotally and resiliently mounting a radio antenna on a vehicle comprises a yoke member 1 mounted on a vehicle by means of a screw 3 and insulator 2 and having pivoted therein a gripping portion formed by a socket member 7 and cap 8, mutually threaded at 13, which between them form a collet joint to grip an antenna 6. The top surfaces of the shoulderpieces of the yoke 1 are flat and are engaged by a sleeve 12 slidable on member 7 and urged downwardly by a spring 10 so as to maintain the antenna in a normal upright position (as in Fig. 4) and restore it if displaced therefrom. The sides of the shoulder-pieces of the yoke 1 are also flat and the antenna may thereby be maintained in a horizontal position (as in Fig. 2) when deliberately so placed.
