Beschreibung description
The invention relates to a pivotable rod or rod antenna with an articulated connection between an antenna rod or an antenna rod and a device or this carrying device according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a known antenna is described in the document of German utility model GM 7 424 987. It is a telescopic antenna, preferably for mounting on motor vehicles with different angles of inclination of the body panels. With the specified detent angle, i.e. the angle from one rest point to the next, from 30 ° or 22.5 °, may be sufficiently adapted to these inclination differences; the low elastic limit deflections of about ± 10, i.e. the area in which the ball locks securely by spring force alone is irrelevant for this application of rod antennas, and no other arrangement is mentioned in the GM document.
However, it is different, e.g. rod or rod antennas for portable radio devices. When walking upright in the forest, it is extremely difficult to avoid low-hanging branches with a 1-2 m long vertical antenna. The same applies when driving on forest roads with an off-road vehicle with an antenna mounted on it. In the interest of good transmission quality, the vertical alignment and the maximum height of the antenna should only be deviated from for a very short time and without disturbing handling.
It is an object of the invention to eliminate the disadvantages and limitations mentioned in the use of rod antennas as far as possible, so that they can be used on portable and mobile radio devices in the simplest but most varied possible manner. This is achieved according to the characterizing part of patent claim 1. This has the advantage that when the antenna springs back by at least 30 °, most branches slide off on the antenna rod, which is also somewhat elastic, after which the spring force of the latching device immediately positions it vertically again. Furthermore, it is readily possible to set up such a radio, for example in a trench, inclined at an angle of more than 30 ° from the vertical, the antenna, brought into the vertical direction by a slight hand movement, also standing vertically; on the other hand, when walking or driving in the forest with an upright device, despite occasionally reaching the intermediate position, the antenna rod will always immediately return to vertical due to the fluctuations of the device.
The invention is explained below using an example with reference to the single drawing Fig. 1.
1, a spherical head part 1 and a socket part 2 together form the ball joint of a pivotable rod antenna 3, which is mounted on a device 4. The rod antenna 3 consists of a fiber-reinforced plastic rod of approximately 1.6 m in length, with an inserted conductor, and here, like the device 4, is only roughly drawn. An arrow indicates the axial direction of the ball head part 1 drawn with solid lines and corresponds to a first, extended position of the ball joint. A second position with the second axial direction of the device 4 'pivoted with respect to the antenna 3 is also shown in dash-dotted lines.
The ball head part 1 has a ball 5 which is integrally connected to a cylindrical neck 6. This in turn is firmly pinned to the device 4 with a pin 7.
The ball 5 is trimmed with respect to the neck 6 and perpendicular to its axis 1 according to the invention by a flat locking surface 8 with outer rounding 9. Finally, a cylindrical bore 10, which runs into a flat cone, is sunk into the ball 5 from the latching surface 8 in such a way that the wall material of the residual material is approximately the same. This saves weight and reduces the risk of stress cracks during hardening.
The socket part 2 of the ball joint consists of a bushing 21 and a sleeve 22 screwed onto it and encompassing the ball and is fixedly connected to the lower end of the rod-shaped or rod-shaped antenna 3 by a thread 23 attached in the former.
In the middle of the socket part 2, between a ball seat 24 attached to the sleeve 22 and the thread 23, the bushing 21 now forms part of a locking device 25. This also includes the locking surface 8 on the ball 5 and one of a strong coil spring 26 Pushed-down plunger 27, which presses against the ball 5 with a circular end face 28 which is flat according to an embodiment of the invention. A cylindrical-tapered blind bore 29 countersunk from above gives the plunger 25 an approximately identical wall thickness, with analogous advantages, as discussed in the bore 10. Preferably, at least the end face 28 of the plunger 27 and the locking surface 8 are rounded with rounding 9 on the ball 5, but even better all parts of the ball joint are hardened using stainless steel and polishing the surface. Before assembly, all parts exposed to wear must be provided with a pressure-resistant lubricant.
According to the invention, this arrangement of joint 1, 1 ', 2 and latching device 25 enables the antenna 3 to be pivoted elastically at least 30 ° with respect to the device 4 and to allow it to spring back. This offers considerable advantages in field use, for example with a portable radio.
The greatest possible swivel angle α is structurally determined within narrow limits by the opening of the socket sleeve 22 and the thickness of the stem 6. It has now been found that the arrangement of a plunger 27 with a flat end face 28 and a substantially flat latching surface 8 on the ball 5 can result in optimal conditions. It is only necessary to ensure that the angle b enclosed by the outer edge of the latching surface 8 and the axis of the handle 6 is at least as large as the greatest possible pivoting angle increased by the static friction angle c

Anderseits kann bei dem um ca. 50° geneigten Gerät die Antenne mit einer leichten, unkritischen Handbewegung in die Vertikale gebracht werden und hält sich dort auch bei Wind. angle a, but in any case larger than the limit deflection of 30 °, all angles! a, b and c related to the center of the sphere. Here, the static friction angle c is the angle that results when one considers the coefficient of friction at the transition from standstill to movement, under load of the spring 26, on the end and locking surfaces 28 and 8 in the pivoted position, as a tangent and determines the argument. This angle is around 5 ° for hardened polished steel surfaces and is of course also dependent on the lubrication. A pressure-resistant, firmly adhering grease is recommended for these. These tolerances, together with those of the spring 26 and with the rounding - in our example approx. 6% of the sphere radius - require that the calculations have to be supplemented by a few attempts. After all, it turned out that with a maximum possible deflection of over 45 ° the elastic limit deflection, i.e. the area in which the antenna swung back due to an obstacle safely springs back into the vertical is over 40 °. On the other hand, with the device tilted by approx. 50 °, the antenna can be brought to the vertical with a light, uncritical hand movement and also stays there in the wind.
Other locking devices with similar advantages can be implemented as variants, e.g. with non-flat locking and face pairs. Instead of a ball joint, a flat horizontal-axis single-plane joint combined with a vertical pivot could also be used. For the sake of brevity, however, such variants are not described in more detail here.
